Create an Animation
What if your students could animate their poetry or their story? There are resources out there that can help with that. The best part is that students can use coding to bring their creativity to life in a new way. If you are interested, then let me introduce you to Scratch.
What is Scratch?
"With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share your creations with others in the online community. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century. Scratch is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. It is provided free of charge." ~Scratch
Take a Look
Watch the video to get an idea of what is expected and how a story is created. Then follow the steps below.

Note: Scratch can be used to make games as well.
How to create a story using Scratch
First, have your students write a short story, fractured fairytale or read a short story of their choosing.
Go through the Scratch tutorials to teach students block coding. Scratch offers step-by-step tutorials, so you can learn along with your students. You don't need an account for this step.
Once finished with the tutorials, you need to create a Scratch account for your students.
Create your story!
Students should start by making their Sprite or character. Then they should choose their background and setting. They can create actions, dialogue, sound effects.
Once students are finished, have them share their stories with the class.
